1. Unlimited entries.
2. A-Reg Beagles who currently fit the breed standard only.
3. No editing of images besides merging the pose and BST together.
4. You must have a new entry image for each show - new pose and new BST.

Part 1: Show Pose

Your Beagle can be posed in any of the three standard pose forms: Dali pose, Profile pose, or 3/4 pose. All are equally accepted.

Part 2: Breed-Specific Task

Choose ONE of the following options for your entry:

1. On the Scent
Beagles are scenthounds, which means they've been bred to follow their nose!

Catch a picture of your Beagle following a scent. The dog should be walking rather than standing in one place, and may be facing left or right. The dog may be parallel with the camera (like the example) or at an angle, but not facing completely away from the camera.

How to Get it: Alternating between rooms can cause your dog to find a scent and start sniffing, or it can happen at random.

2. Running as a Pack
Beagles are very pack-oriented, having been bred for pack hunting rabbit and hare. The traditional Beagle pack could consist of up to 70 Beagles! The packs would run so closely together that it was said they "could be covered with a sheet."

Your Beagle should be running together with at least one other dog (another Beagle ideally, though any breed will do). The dogs may be running in either direction, but they must be going the same direction. Form (fully-extended, etc.) doesn't matter, nor does where the dogs' eyes are focused. Dogs can either have a relaxed or excited expression, but there must be no aggression (one dog angrily chasing another etc.) or fear. All of the dogs in the shot must be running (no tripped and trampled dogs!) and you should aim for them being as close together as you can get them. Make SURE that the dog the entry is for is visible in the pack!

How to Get it: Use the playpen with no toys or anything laying around. Take out your dogs and let them all meet each other (if they haven't yet) and be sure they all get along. It works best to have at least three dogs out, as you'll be more likely to catch the minimum two dogs running at the same time that way. Call the dogs to one side of the room and reward them when they come. Keep clicking until they are all paying attention and following your hand, and then wait until they've all come to stand close to your hand and are facing the same direction. NOW go across the room and call them to you - if they're all paying attention, they'll all run to you at the same time!

* In the case that the other dogs visible in the pack are also Beagles entered in the premier, you may not use the same pack picture for each of them. Each must have a unique picture.

3. Retrieve the Rabbit
Beagles were developed to hunt rabbit and hare with a hunter or hunting party following behind.

For this BST, your Beagle should bring you the rabbit! You may use the rabbit toy from Supernova or the fluffy man toy. The dog must be running left-to-right or right-to-left, with its legs fully extended, and with its head facing in the direction of movement (profile to the camera). The visible eye may be looking forward or at the camera.

How to Get it: When your Beagle has picked up the rabbit/toy, pet him or her so that they forget it is in their mouth, and then you can position them for the run.
